About Brookvale
Nestled in an area of Northern California that is surrounded by water on its eastern and southern border, Brookvale Fremont is one amazing place to live. Brookvale Fremont Schools
The Fremont Unified School District serves the public school students who live in Brookvale. The district serves 34,162 students and is ranked 94 of 865 school districts in California. Neighborhood students attend the following schools:
- Brookvale Elementary School – Located within the neighborhood, on Nicolet Avenue, Brookvale Elementary serves 658 students in grades Kindergarten through 6.
- Thornton Junior School – Serves 1,156 students in grades 7 and 8.
- American High School – Located in the Brookvale neighborhood (just south of the elementary school), American High serves nearly 2,000 students in grades 9 through 12. This is an improving school where student raised the average standardized test score more than 31 points between 2011 and 2016.
Shopping, dining and recreation in Brookvale Fremont
You won’t have to go far from home to run your errands when you live in the Brookvale neighborhood in Fremont. Groceries, a pharmacy, beauty supply store, fitness center and more are readily available at the Brookvale Shopping Center. You can also gas up the car and stop in for a latte at Starbucks or an ice-cream cone at Baskin Robbins.
Dining out is a snap as well, especially along Thornton and Fremont. From a tofu eatery to pizza, fast food and even a diner serving American classics, there’s a variety of eateries, just steps from home.
Outdoor enthusiasts will particularly love the Brookvale neighborhood. As mentioned earlier, part of the neighborhood includes the Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area. In fact, the Isherwood Staging Area, right in the neighborhood, is the ideal jumping off point for the Alameda Creek Trail and you can get to Isherwood Staging Area via the trail at Brookvale Park.
Brookvale is also home to several community parks. The 12-acre Los Cerritos Park, adjacent to the elementary school, is home to a 6,000-foot community center, picnic areas with grills and play areas for the kids.
Homes in Brookvale Fremont
Brookvale offers several home styles, but the California rancher dominates. A single-family detached home for sale in Brookvale may be priced starting in the high $1.2 million and you’ll find condos priced in excess of $1 million.
Many of the homes for sale in this part of Fremont show pride of ownership with excellent curb appeal. About 66 percent of the homes are owner-occupied.

Brookvale is an oddly-shaped neighborhood. You’ll find it roughly south of and including the Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area and north of Fremont Blvd., between Thornton Ave. and Decoto Rd.
