Garden Gate schools
Education is important to Cupertino parents and many devote their leisure time to helping out in the classrooms of the area’s schools. This devotion is reflected in their children’s impressive performance on standardized tests. Public school students in Garden Gate attend the following schools:
Garden Gate Elementary School – Located within the neighborhood’s boundaries, Garden Gate Elementary serves slightly more than 700 students in grades Kindergarten through 5. It’s ranked 90 of California’s 5,621 public elementary schools.
John F. Kennedy Middle School – Middle school is one of the most challenging periods in an adolescent’s life, so when a school is ranked as high as Kennedy Middle School, you know the administrators are on the right track. Kennedy is ranked as California’s 5th best middle school and teaches nearly 1,500 students in grades 6 through 8.
Monta Vista High School – One of the highest-ranked high schools in the city (8th of the state’s 2,044 public high schools), Monta Vista serves more than 2,300 students.

Garden Gate homes
Garden Gate homes are primarily detached, single-family dwellings that sit on standard-sized lots as well as some lots that measure more than 10,000 square feet. Seventy-six percent of the area’s homes are owner-occupied and most were built in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
Older Garden Gate homes that sit on large lots are frequently torn down and replaced with larger, more contemporary homes, so you’ll find a bit of new construction in the neighborhood as well as vintage homes.
